I’m Karren O’Sullivan, lover of animals, nature, community and the healing arts…
Always drawn to the life sciences, I chose a professional nursing career that spanned 20 years. Upon retirement, I began to explore ways to work with animals by studying awareness training, animal behavior and a variety of holistic approaches to healing. My journey towards the practice of Reiki stemmed from my desire to learn a holistic and complimentary method of healing on many levels; physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually for animals and myself.
I chose to study Animal Reiki under my teacher Kathleen Prasad, www.animalreikisource.com & President of a 501(c) 3 nonprofit - SARA (www.shelteranimalreikiassociation.org). I completed my Level III Reiki training under Kathleen’s teacher, Frans Stiene www.ihreiki.com in 2012 and became a SARA teacher in 2013. Fascinated by wildlife and power animals, I chose to expand my Reiki practice and take Master Teacher Training under Kathleen Prasad in 2014 and 2018 at the CARE Foundation, a wildlife sanctuary in Florida.
I am a Shelter Animal Reiki Association (SARA) practitioner and teacher aligned with SARA’s mission “to improve the lives of animals by promoting the use of Reiki in animal shelters, sanctuaries and rescues worldwide through education, training and the advancement of Reiki programs that meet the highest standards of integrity and professionalism.” I volunteer at the Tulsa Animal Welfare Shelter offering Reiki therapy as a compliment to the traditional veterinary medical care the animals receive. Reiki has been shown to improve adoption rates. I also offer private Reiki treatments and distant Reiki sessions to all animals of any variety as part of my private practice.
My living vision is to create a peaceful haven for animals and their people through practicing and teaching Reiki meditation.
